Description

After years of growing broomcorn and carefully saving seed from plants selected for broom-quality traits, we are ready to share some seed with other broom-makers and growers!

We originally obtained this seed from Caddy Supply. During the first couple of years, we were harvesting 40-50% of the plants for broom-making (plants with long brush (or ‘hurl’) and 4+ inches of stalk between the brush and the ‘knuckle’ or main stem of the plant). Now, after selecting seed for a few years, we are harvesting 90+% of the plants that have these traits. It is amazing what humans and plants can accomplish together in just a few seasons of cooperation.

Available in packet (approximately 100 seeds), half ounce (~600 seeds), ounce (~1,200 seeds), or 1/4 lb (~5,000 seeds).
