Celebrate the art of land-connected craft with our cobwebber broom-making workshop, using materials grown organically right here at Bundle Sticks Farm! Whether you’re new to broom making or refining your skills, this hands-on class will guide you through the process of creating a beautiful, functional cobwebber broom—perfect for clearing cobwebs from high corners, sweeping behind the fridge, or getting cat toys out from under the couch (ask us how we know).

Making a cobwebber broom involves techniques of attaching broomcorn to a handle, weaving or “plaiting” the stem of the broomcorn, wrapping a broom, and stitching. The workshop will cover all these techniques as well as provide an introduction to the broomcorn plant and our practices for growing and processing broomcorn at Bundle Sticks Farm.

This workshop is suitable for teens and adults. Some hand strength and dexterity required. No prior broom making experience is necessary.

Led by Brian Geier, co-founder of Bundle Sticks Farm, and experienced farmer and craftsperson, participants will learn traditional broom-making techniques and leave with a handmade broom ready to take home.
