Farmers in the US used to raise millions of pounds of broomcorn each year.

We’re working hard to bring to you some of the only brooms and broomcorn raised in the U.S. since the industry was moved south of the border decades ago.

Broomcorn (Sorghum bicolor) is an ancient grain native to Africa. It was cultivated and domesticated by African farmers 8,000 years ago or so. We have generations of African farmers and seeds savers to thank for these amazing plants.

We began growing broomcorn in 2023. Our first harvest was hardly usable.

Now, in 2025, using seed we carefully selected, we are able to harvest most of what we raise. We now have enough to make all of our brooms, supply our broom workshops, and offer to other broom makers as well.

This work connects us to the land, to the seasons, and to an ancient lineage of farmers, seed savers, and craftspeople.
